Target: 500 tonnes of plastic waste collected by the end of 2026

Launched in December 2022, this collaboration forms part of the Horus Pharma Group’s sustainable development strategy and its overarching Eco’Ophtalmo programme, which is dedicated to reducing its environmental footprint in support of sustainable ophthalmology.

Since the partnership was launched in late 2022, this initiative has enabled the collection and recycling of just under 450 tonnes of plastic waste. An initial phase, covering 2022 and 2023, resulted in the collection of 100 tonnes of plastic from the coastlines of South-East Asia, areas particularly affected by marine pollution. Between 2024 and 2025, the initiative continued along the Mediterranean coast in Egypt, with a further 300 tonnes collected.

In 2026, Horus Pharma plans to collect and recycle a further 88 tonnes. This commitment will bring the total to 500 tonnes of plastic waste collected since the start of the partnership.
