Beyond ophthalmic health, improving quality of life

At Horus Pharma, we believe that ophthalmic health is not limited to treating diseases. We want to improve patients’ quality of life. Our aim is to help people feel better by addressing overall well-being. It is therefore only natural that our research in ophthalmology also encompasses ocular micronutrition, eye contour dermatology, and cosmetics.

Ophthalmic expertise applied to cosmetics

Clarté Laboratoire, launched in 2023, illustrates our desire to innovate beyond ophthalmic health.

The first aesthetic brand to emerge from ophthalmology research, Clarté Laboratoire was born from the idea of applying the same medical standards to facial care as to the eye, one of the most challenging areas of the human body.

The company therefore offers preservative-free, fragrance-free cosmetics for the eye contour and face to protect and preserve the skin over time.

Packaged in innovative refillable glass containers to prevent oxidation and pollution, these products combine concentrated active ingredients, high tolerance, and innovative formulations adapted to these very delicate areas.

Dulcis health science is a scientific research company specialising in ophthalmology and dermatology. It integrates multidisciplinary and complementary approaches into patient care, including ocular micronutrition and dermophthalmology.

We therefore promote integrative medicine, bringing together several types of products with the aim of improving patients’ overall quality of life.

  • In dermophthalmology, dulcis health science offers hygiene and care products that combine ophthalmological and dermatological expertise and are suitable for sensitive and delicate eyelids.
  • We also apply our expertise in formulation and development to ocular nutrition through a
range of dietary supplements that help maintain healthy eyesight.

Did you know

Ocular micronutrition refers to the targeted intake of micronutrients (vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, etc.) that help maintain eye health1. It is based primarily on the use of antioxidants such as vitamins C and E, zinc or selenium), macular carotenoids (lutein, zeaxanthin) and omega-3, which help maintain normal vision, filter some blue light2 and limit the oxidative stress3 involved in age-related eye changes4.

This may involve dietary advice (oily fish, green vegetables, colourful fruits, nuts)5 and, if necessary, targeted supplements. Whilst the nutrients themselves have long been known, micronutrition is innovative in the holistic approach it enables: taking into account gut microbiota, screen exposure, pollution, and tailoring intake to each patient’s individual constitution6.

This approach is particularly aimed at people exposed to risk factors: ageing, intensive screen time, family history, etc. Ocular micronutrition is thus part of an active care approach, complementing traditional medical treatments with a targeted nutritional strategy.
